Wanted to make some space in my display for some other things on this rock, but my palythoa grandis are taking up quite a bit of space. Any recommended ways of removing it without damaging the rock? I was thinking of taking it out of the tank and slowly remove it with a razor blade/scalpel.

I would also take the rock out of the tank first, a razor blade would work but you need to be careful of anything squirting out at you. I would use hammer and chisel, personally. And make sure you wear some gloves / goggles, palytoxin is no joke!

Oh yeah for sure I always wear gloves, goggles and a mask while fragging zoas. The rock is removable so I'll take it outside and most likely use a hammer + chisel as suggested and try to minimize damage to the rock. I've fragged these guys before a long time ago and their tissue is a lot tougher than regular zoas in my experience. Thanks all

Where ever you do the removal, make sure to clean that area thoroughly, especially if you have family members or pets that would be exposed to it. I have several palys that are growing on my Aussie rock, so I'll be doing the same thing shortly.
