So I was bored on a Sunday and Chris janiners305 told me about Pasadena Tropical Fish. We met up there and spent a few hours chatting and scoping the livestock. I was very impressed with the selection for it being both a saltwater and freshwater shop. The coral selection was also decent and offered everything from zoas to SPS. Prices on fish was pretty fair---typical retail pricing. Prices on corals varied and there were some items that were somewhat higher priced. The cool thing about this shop is that every Sunday they bring a new shipment of fish and give 25% for fish and coral already in the bag. This is a great bargain for those looking for a decent discount on livestock.
Their livestock looked pretty healthy and the owner was more than willing to feed the fish in from of you. They had some good looking Sunburst anthias eating too. They had a nice selection of snowflake clowns, but a little overpriced. However, their other less exotic livestock was well within retail pricing. As far as for rarity of livestock, they had a flame wrasse for $200 (typically $200 for a pair) and a Katoi wrasse in the bag for $150 (smoking deal). So the owner brings in rare stuff from time to time. Chris said that there are times you can find gems at the store like fish and coral too, which is nice when you're livestock hunting.
Overall, it was a nice well maintained store and had a decent selection of livestock. I'll be keeping in touch with Chris about their Sunday livestock in hopes of stocking my big tank.
