petco tanks are all tempered glass?

I just purchased a 40 breeder from petco because they were having such a great sale on tanks, but to my surprise, when I got home I found a sticker on the bottom of the tank that says "tempered glass do not drill"
which is a bummer because I need an overflow / return

I was wondering if anyone had any insight to these tanks. Does petco have any non - tempered glass tanks for sale on the 1/gallon sale?

I tried calling the store but it didn't seem like anyone knew what "tempered" meant .
Any info would help. Thanks

I believe only the bottom is tempered. I've drilled many petco tanks myself but I don't know if they have made all sides tempered. The bottoms have always been tempered

Ok that's great to know thanks ill give Chad a call tomorrow to see what he thinks. And the sticker is only on the bottom piece of the tank

I have this exact tank that I made an external overflow for only the bottom is tempered. Also the tank does bow a little when full.

My old tank is 40 breeder from petco. The bottom is tempered, not the side.
I use compact overflow which only 4"x5"x3" space.
