Ph dilemma with calcium reactor

I recently switched from dosing to using a calcium reactor. I'm struggling with my pH level it goes down to 7.7 in the morning when the lights come on it's slowly goes up to 8 but that's as far as it will go. I have attached a quarter inch vinyl tubing line to my protein skimmer going outside a window, I'm going to install fans over my Sump and tank. And I was hoping someone could tell me if there's another way to raise my pH. I tried putting kalkwasser in my auto top off water, and it raises my KH too high. I saw some thread of dosing lime water? Can anyone else give me some suggestions. I have an SPS dominant tank and I know they like a pH of 8.3 to 8.4 best.

lime water is kalk. You are not going to most likely reach 8.3 or 8.4, so I would stop chasing those numbers. You can lower your drip rate, or only run the CA reactor during consumption hours. I only run my CA reactor when lights are on, and run my ATO with kalk when CA reactor is off. I run around 7.8-8.0, and run heavy SPS.

When is the last time you calibrated your pH probe? Also how old is the probe?

Also I found years ago to stop chasing numbers. Just make the water parameter as stable as possible. Corals adapt as long as there in a sustainable environment.

When my 300g was banning out of control my parameters were low to everyone else’s standards but my corals thrived and grew like weeds.

My brand new Apex probe was calibrated correctly about three months ago when I set the Apex up, right before I set up the reactor

Don’t chase pH. It’s good to know what your pH is and to tailer your setup around pH but pH isn’t the be all end all.

You could turn off the reactor in the evening but the tried and true method is kalkwasser. Do some more reading on how to administer kalkwasser in your ATO

Thank you all for your input, I realize I am a little too focused on my PH numbers. Now that I have a apex and can see everything all the time !
