Has anyone experimented with creating a color/pin wheel with a capricornis (cup or scroll coral)? I've started what I think and hope should be one with four colors. Just wondering success rate, how you started one and ruffly how long it took for it to look way cool. :dontknow:
This was started the size of a half dollar and 2 years later it is about 10 inches across.Once it is 4 or 5 inches across , turn it on ot side and you will get a lot of nice looking swirls. good luck.
Jason at Tropical Reef Fish Store started one for me. He started with a green, red, purple and so called blue frags. Now I just have to be patient. I'll try to remember to turn it on it's side.
If Jason at Tropical Reef Fish Store got the so called blue cap from me it is blue. It will turn a baby blue in the right conditions. As for the right conditions I'm still working on that. It turns baby blue for me once in a while.
I've tried this pinwheel years ago and yes it does look cool but theres always one cap that will out grow the rest. Usally the orange cap takes over

Month 2. Top green and purple staring to duke it out. Top green is pushing up red. Bottom blue/green starting to intersect with red. Center plug not visable. It's amazing how fast it really grows.:smashPict to be posted by PGR11)
