I agree with this. Anyone who has been banned shouldn't be a moderator on a forum irregardless of their ability or overall intent.

That said there should be different levels of mods, those who can delete spammer threads etc...and those that can ban and make/enforce rules. It would make it much easier on the board users to not have spammer posts all over the place.

A CL style flagging system would also be an effective way to allow the community to remove offending posts, just not sure how realistic implementing one is

Wow thanks for the response guys. First off, there are a few obvious rules that I failed to mention in my first post. Members that have been banned in the past can not be nominated. I really appreciate the sponsors offering me an extra hand. But having them advertise their business with their awesome coral selection and price is more than enough.
