I think a solution to all the bickering is quite easy:


Make a stipulation that the new mod will have NO AUTHORITY beyond the scope of erasing spam from the forum as necessary.
In other words, no banning rights

I mean (ahem) isn't that what everyone has been campaigning for all along?
"To get rid of the spam, get rid of spam, get rid of spam"

We wouldn't have any hidden agendas by chance would we?


I think we all know what the true motivation of becoming a mod is.
Take away the elitist button and THEN lets see who the last man standing is.

That's our twisted understanding of the situation. However if that was the case then there wouldn't have been the perceived need to disqualify members for past action or due to their position in the hobby.

Either the motivation is:

A) to truly HELP the forum

or

B) to assert CONTROL over other people

The test is simple.....remove part B



Those in group A have no reason to be threatened by this test
Those in group B will be purposely rooted out and sent on their way.
