In a nutshell.. i did an emergency tank transfer when my 90g cracked.. found a tank local and picked it up. Had not been used by the second owner yet and had only bulkheads and a standpipe. Built the plumbing with massive help from my great friend John ( NasoTang)... but when turned on.. the vibration of the durso caused the drain pipe slip slightly and now it leaks. It seems to us now that the 2" bulkead BARELY covers the cut hole in the overflow. So all we can think of to try is a @.2.25 bulkhead is needed .. We have tried over and over to line up this bulhead , but the coverage is so small that it's about impossible.
I'll hafta cut out the bulkhead , as it is glued.
Are there ANY plumbing savvy reefers I can Hire/ Bribe to help me out here, and anybody know if i can find a 2.25" bulkhead ANYWHERE local to Murrieta QUICK? My livestock /sand /rock is in this setup already, and can't bear the thought of starting over again.. I'll prob just throw in the towel in all seriousness..
PLEASE LMK if you can help me out .. I am at the end of my rope here Guys ;(
Thank you,
Jami
p.s. Did I mention.. I know nothing of plumbing ? And after absorbing most of John's Saturday and part of his Sunday, he had to go tend to his actual life today, understandably ..

I would break out the phone book (remember those) and see if you can find a plumbing supply. Depot and Lowes aren't reliable when looking for specialty plumbing for our tanks. There is a local place here in the OC called Baird and Crockets's I know has all the bulkheads, barbed fittings etc. whenever I need something odd. There HAS to be someplace similar in Murrieta, or at least in the Temecula Valley that will have a similar stock. Let your fingers do the walking, and burn up those phone lines. Just make sure to know the outside diameter (o.d.) of the hole you are trying to fit the bulkhead into. You should be able to get an answer over the phone as to what they have so, hopefully, you only have to make 1 trip.
Hope this helps....

Never heard of a 2.25 bulkhead but I guess you never know. I might have a macgyver idea. How about using an acrylic template to cover any gaps. And place the template down underneath the bulkhead. It would have to be siliconed down though.

What do you think guys, would that work?

Might just work... Glass would be better though as silicone doesn't stick to acrylic well at all.

How big is your hole. I have an extra 2" BH. Not sure if you cab use it or if it's the same size as yours. It's yours if you can use it.

I think Tropical Reef Fish Store has the proper fix though.

ez fix.......... just use a Schedule 80 2'' bulkhead the hole size is 1/4 bigger then a Schedule 40.
so if you have a 2'' Schedule 40 buklhead the hole needs to be 3'' but yr hole is 3'' 1/4 a Schedule 80 2'' bulkhead needs a 3'' 1/4 hole.

Do this. This will solve your problem. I'll look when I get home to see if I have one. I don't know think I do but I'll check.

I have joyous news to report! I'm near tears.. It is fixed!!!

Another of my personal Saviors , rudy saved the day!
Making me this over sized thick Gasket and a spacer acrylic washer.. And Viola!!
My Reef world is right again!
Thank you SO much Rudy! This creation of yours worked perfectly!! Woohoo!

How the Universe works;
It's funny now.. Had I gotten the tank set it up and all went smoothly .. I'd be left *****ing and moaning about my lost dream tank .. But having gone through the wringer getting this to work.. I find I'm nothing but elated now to have a functioning tank .. Perfect or not! Here is a very dirty unscaped preview

Thank you all for your support and advice.. I'd be so lost in this hobby of not for the wonderful friends I've found here, and all the members who take time to offer advice
