I have heard some good things on using laguna pumps as returns from the sump.

My thoughts where to possibly use a pond pump with UV 1095gph as a return pump for my 100 gallon DT. thoughts?

Not all pumps can handle saltwater. You need to know if it will be able to or not. I would not suggest the UV on the return unless its plumbed in on a manifold to regulate the flow. If I remember correctly UV is better run off a drain line but I'm not 100% on that

My thinking is I need a return pump either way and it cost $129 for 1095 gph. Also if I put it at the end of the filtration won't it be the most effective? It would mainly be dealing with bacteria and not derbis.

My goal is to be efficient and cost effective. Wouldn't mind getting a used pump if it was a better deal cost and efficent wise.
