I made this out of scrap acrylic pieces that I had lying around. The 4 sides are 3/8" and the bottom is 1/4" black acrylic. I wanted to try a black bottom to see if the makes the frags stand out more. It may not do anything special, but I had the acrylic lying around anyways.

The dimensions are 27"Lx24"Wx11"H. Water will probably only fill up to about 8-9 inches so there shouldn't be a noticeable bow. It's definitely an improvement over my ghetto plastic tub from Target that I used at the last CFM.

Check out these pix and let me know what you think. Thanks.

very nice kenny, what did you use to polish it with? i've used different grit sand paper and then the novus 3 step and it takes forever. wondering if you have a quicker way. haha, and i am not sure how to fire polish the edges.

Thanks everyone.

Mike, unless I mass produce these, it's not really worth it in terms of time to make a few for sale.

Steve, for polishing, I first used a straight metal file and flatten the uneveness. I may or may not use sandpaper after that depending on how smooth I need it. This is not a display tank to be view every day so I stopped after the filing. I then used a polishing wheel with Tripoli compound to polish the cut edges. You can get a brighter polish by following with Jeweler's Rouge but once again, this wasn't meant as a display tank. I haven't tried flame polishing yet and probably won't b/c it could get expensive. Plus I heard that it weakens the intergrity of the acrylic.
