so the wife and I might go with my parents to Greece for their 50th wedding anniversary for 3 weeks to spend some time with our family out there and also go to the church where they got married in! my wifes first time flying abroad! but anyways backl to why I am here, im trying to figure out what to do with my tank when and if we go to Greece. what are your thoughts and opinions on being gone that long away from your tank? i do have friends that would be able to come over but they are too retarded to do anything right haha

I went to Greece last year. We had a great time.

I had my mother in law doing the daily feedings, which I portioned for each day to prevent overfeeding.

I also had Chad from Coral Gazers come by once a week to check on the equipment, RODI top off, dosing, etc.

Apex controller and video camera (dropcam) for monitoring the tank and someone on standby that you can call in case of emergency. If your fish are eating prepared foods like pellets, apex even has the auto feeder. I automated almost everything on my tank because I am gone every week.

For three weeks Id do this. I leave my tank atleast twice a month. But anything over 5 days I have a pro check in and do a water change

Greece is a great time! have lots of family out there. my mother in law lives in Utah so I cant have her do it

knowing all of my friends they would just trash the place and party and eat all my food and forget to check on the tank.

Definitely find a reefing buddy to check on twice a week. Have some sort of online monitoring for you tank so that you can check to see if anything is out of whack. If you're having a non aquarist buddy over to feed, pre-portion the food for him/her.

Do this^^^^. When I leave for extended periods I have the mother in-law come by and feed food that I have portioned out in bags and marked for each day. I make sure to have plenty of RO made and Salt water mixed in case a need arises for a WC. Then once or twice a week I have Jason from tropical reef come by and just check on the tank. Once you leave don't think about the tank. Complete forget about it. Otherwise you'll just stress on something you really won't be able to control. Relax and have fun. Your tank will be fine.

Do you have any friends that you can trust not to party at your house and feed the pre measured amount of food? That will be a must.. other than that I have a friend come by and check the water and do a small water change once a week or a large one every two weeks

Does the Neptune Apex Web interface or the app still work when you are out side of the US?
