Im trying to change my RO membrane and I cant for the life of me get the container open to get at the used membrane. It looks like a regular twist off, but I cant move it with my hands and its too large for even the largest pliers/vice grips I have.

Any recommendations on how to open the capsule thing?

where are you at in riverside? I have a special device that I use to twist off the canister.. Or get a pair of large channel locks.. 14" channel locks at home depot for $25..

Sounds like someone overtightened it to begin with. try and run the end of it under hot water from the tap. Will expand things and help get it to move.

=1 on that. also if you have a belt wrap it with that and try to use that to get a better grip.

There we go!

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try all of the above. This will be the first time Ive changed the membrane so I wasnt sure if there was a trick to it.
