Protein Skimmer SWC 120 Cone Skimmer

Well I have the water and air wide open and also tried restricting the air but the water keeps overflowing out of the top of the collection cup after a few hours, any idea why?

the water level (not bubbles) inside the skimmer should be about an inch under the white part of the cone... that ring thing...

i dunno how many inches of water it should be in, but my swc160 is in almost 10" of water and working pretty well...

Well I have heard to try three different things.
1) do water change cause skimmer needs tonstart in cleaner water
2) raise skimmer in water to lower the level of water skimmer is in.
3) raise water level in skimmer

I am going to try the water change first because I need to anyways and then I'll let you know if it is solved or not.
