We're thinking about turning our 110 gallon acrylic into a FOWLR for now. We really want to get a porcupine puffer for it but have been reading that puffers tend to scratch the acrylic.

We want to know if they are less likely to do this then other puffers, say dog face, since their teeth don't stick out too much. Or if at least they want be too deep so after we move on from the puffer we can buff the acrylic and get rid of the scratches.

And yes we know that the puffer will need more then 110 gallons in the future.. we'll either give him away or use it as an excuse to upgrade to a bigger tank in the future :p

Thanks for looking.

YOu should have no problem with the Porcupines, Its the ones with the big beaks sticking out that scratch like dog face kind or stars and strips and stuff. youd be fine with the ble spot puffers and valentini and leopards as well but those are a lil different that typical puffers haha

I have a valentini/saddleback toby in an acrylic tank, and I haven't noticed any marks on the tank fron his teeth... I think he has plenty of rock to nibble on, so he has no reason to scrape the tank. I could be wrong, but that's my theory.
