Hate to stir the post but those don't look like Blue Steels to me, or Stingers. Why is it you all think they're definitely not Purple Hornets. Could it be the pic? I do see the alternating skirt. I have some too and I mean they look close I guess, different tanks and lighting will vary slightly you know? Just throwing it out there.

But I also thought reefpets originated the hornets out of indo, not rockymountain... but here are some for sale on their site now that don't look like yours. So ya I guess I do agree they aren't the real deal. The inner circle seems to be too small.

Send the rude seller this link and ask if he thinks these on their site look like the ones he sold you. See what he says to that.

Wow, that is harsh! I always try to have in mind what I want to add to my tank, so I know exactly what it's supposed to look like. I've bought pink zippers before that I had that problem....got some online that were just sick, super bright, then bought some from a local that looked nothing like it was supposed to...so lesson learned!

That is why the naming of corals can be a detriment in some instances, when they should just be sold by what color they are and the actual pic of them not enhanced. The cycle goes on as someone buys the coral under a certain name when in fact its not the exact piece, then sells to another not knowing, then the next person thinks they are legit because the other said so, not like they are lying.. etc etc.

I will keep this thread open if you want. Or you can start a new thread once you get an id and selling price. Up to you OP.

Id like to keep it open until i can get a better idea of whether they're real or not.

Ill still be selling some polyps either way. Once we get this figured out then ill make a new thread so all this doesnt cloud up the selling thread

They do look like purple hornets! I got some in my tank that look just like yours. I think there might be some slight variations depends on lineage. I don't think you got cheated....just my 2 cents :)

Purple hornets.

Just because z/ps can change slightly from tank to tank does not mean they aren't the true coral. People rely far too much on photo editing programs. I believe in this case it's just photography skills and equipment. Those look like great hornets too me.

wrong thread then! psshhaw got me excited over nothing LOL :jester:

No i do want to sell them. I got discouraged by the first few people telling me they were fakes and i didnt want a rep of trying to sell fakes to people. So i edited the orginal post trying to just trying to figure out what they actually where.

After reposting my own pic here and on the forum i purchased the polyps on ive had many people now confirm they are purple hornets. PHEW. i thought i had been ripped big time cuz i paid top dollar for them.

Anyways i had posted a new thread for them just as "polyps"

Im asking $10 a polyp
