They are drilled for metric bulkheads. I believe BRS sells sch80 bulkheads (smaller in size than the original bulkheads) that will fit, or you can drill your tank out to fit normal size 'merican bulkheads.

Here is a pic for reference. You can see the unions I used at the top. Everything fit perfect. I used SCH80 fittings and red pvc piping bought from BRS.

Hi Vince,
How did you connect the union and the reducer on your main drain?
Hi Jake,

I got the reducers @ usplastic.com

As for connecting them, measure and cut off the cad drain plumbing and attach the 40mm union. The other side of the 40mm union is 1.25", so you can add the size of the reducer for your system.

The real question is can you replace the cad bulkheads with your own?
From doing my research a while back, I believe the only way to switch to non metric bulkheads is to modify the existing glass holes. I could be wrong. But since my tank was already a running system, I couldn't go that route. This was the best solution i could figure out for my system.

Thanks vince. Just trying to figure it out because it looks like a 1 unit.
YW. If your going this route, be careful cutting the cad pvc pipes. The pipes are really thin and fragile. I literally almost shattered the pipes into pieces. Wear protective glasses when attempting this also.

+1 using a pipe cutter will bust the cad pipes because they're too thin... The only way I found I could cut them was using a hacksaw.
