I was just wondering if there was any way to determine if my tank is still infested with Pyramid Snails.

These little buggers took down my clam about a month ago. I read somewhere that they die off if they don't have a host. So I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a time table where I can determine when its safe to put in another clam?

I have a hitchhiker mussel in there thats seems to be doing fine. So I'm not sure if that is an indicator.

Thanks :thank_you2:

Normally they do die off with no host after a while. If you have any snails(turbos, astreas, etc), I would check under or around their shells cuz they can be on them as well.

I had some issues with pyramid snails in my nano and it was due to me adding a turbo snail that I purchased that had some pyramid snails attached under the shell. I never knew about these pests until I saw a little patch of white on my turbo's shell and looked at it closer and it was a bunch of little tiny snails. I manually removed them and had it confirmed that they were pyramid snails. They multiply fast too :(
