A bought a Vietnamese polyp rock several months ago only to watch it slowly fade away. The picture below is when I first got it. It began to grow Aiptasia. I took it out to poison them and noticed a little critter crawling around. I took a picture and posted it. I was told it was a zoa eating nudi. I found two more in the bowl after. It was recommended to me to dip the coral in coral rx. Which I just did and seemingly only managed to kill a few starfish.

So the question is, did I only succeed in further stressing this coral? And is it possible there were only three nudis? Other corals (polyps and lps / sps) doing good.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Is it possible there are only three nudis? yes. Are you comfortable believing there are only three nudis in your tank and have been taken out? I wouldn't. The coral can bounce back and is probably pi$$ed. You most likely will have to dip a few more times to help eradicate the nudis from your tank. Also, if there are other zoas, I'd strongly consider dipping them to.

It was coral rx, followed the instructions on the bottle. Let soak about 7 minutes (says 5-10) and dosed properly. I literally put it back in the tank and posted this. It's only been about a half hour.

I found a nudi in my zoa colony once, luckily it was only on the eagle eyes. But I still dipped all my zoas and paly to be sure, I used coral rx. Most zoas looked ok the next day. I dip at night for two reasons. One, polyps are already closed so that's less stress. Two, the nudis usually become more active at night so I'm most likely to get them. I've also dipped my zoas in rodi water when I didn't have a coral dip, they took longer to open but they were fine after 3 days. Just give them a little break but I'm sure they'll be ok. And yes it's very likely you only had a couple nudi in the tank, I only had 2 after dipping them 3 once every week for 3 weeks

Awesome, thanks Shawn and Eric. I just get nervous dipping some of my higher end zoas, like fire and ices and Chong bongs. But I need to be sure.
