Is 150g of GFO too much for 150gallons of water?
Should I install biopellets now or wait until I start stocking the tank?

Sounds like you're about to fix some problems that you don't even have yet. I would advise that you first get your system stable and then address nutrient issues. Every tank is different, and anyone that gives you boilerplate advice based on the size of your tank instead of a detailed history of testing/feeding/bioload is giving you bad advice.
