So I picked up a coralife super skimmer 65g to use as a HOB for my biocube 29. Did the enkamat mesh mod in the stock needle wheel and immediately noticed the difference in amount of bubbles that were being produce. I set the water level to about.mid way of the skimmer neck to allow some break in time and prevent a cup overflow. Well I later left for my nieces birthday party and just got home. Took a quick look at the skimmer and bubble production has reduced greatly as if it were on the stock needle wheel prior to the mesh being added earlier.
Any ideas what happened? I took out the pump and.inspected the impeller and the whiskey is in place and everything looks fine just bubble production is back to stock. My only guess is maybe I have nothing to skim in the water column? My tank consists of the following:
Ocellarus clowns x 2
Green chromis x 2
6 line wrasse
Ocellate damsel fish
Brittle star
About 30+ snails and hermit crabs
I feed a cube if mysis once per day. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
