I currently have 4.

A MS Hornet
Torn apart Hirobo GPH 346 (needing rebuild because there is an RF glitch that screws up the receiver; metal frame. Kinda comes with the territory)
Raptor 30
Hirobo Freya (delrin gear, CF blades, yada yada yada)

The freya is my FAVORITE. I LOVE it's get up and go. Got a YS .60 in it. LOVE the positive pressure feed...

Haven't flown them in over a year...

Dude. You have WAAAAAY too many heli's (look who's talking, eh?!).

I picked up a YS 80. Remember those? Still have it; haven't even put fuel in it and I've had it for, what, 4 years?

:(

We should get together sometime... Where do you fly?

Oh man, you guys gonna kill me. Havent taken out my raptor 30 (v1) in years. Last year got into the trex450 for the micro, even had to run out and get a t9 super cause my rd6000 wasnt gonna cut it w/ the retracts, yeah bling bling -all show.... Shoot ive had that sucker shelved for a few mo already and now I find bruce is doing this to? And to think a padlock for my wallet would be enough....

Wait a min did you say scale ??? Now this gonna go downhill real quick!!
Mine's a V1... And come to think of it, I bought the one that was already built (SOO unlike me!). 49BB version, though, thank you...

I need to call AMA and see about getting my insurance for the remainder of the year. I've been paying my dues for what, 12 years, maybe? Last year was the first year I didn't. And it was mostly due to just not taking the time.

*hangs head in shame*

Anyone do any night flying? I have the neon ropes, but they cause RF issues on my raptor because of the proximity of the xformer to the receiver... Gotta put my PCM RX on there, but haven't taken the time...

And cooler temperatures - YES! You can lean it out a bit more now and not worry about frying the motor!!!

Man, I miss that hobby... I can say I have more into it than I do my reef, though. At least now. In a week? Maybe not...

I want to go with nothing but electric. Quiet, clean. Looking at the trex, but kinda got out of it a year or so ago in favor of more heavily getting into my reefing...

I don't do 3d. Well, I HAVE, but I get too scared. I have the G2 sim but have thought about the reflex that way I can use my own radio... But we'll see.

Nothin like the smell of nitro in the morning, though, ain't it so, guys?

:top:

Oh yeah, ive seen that pic before so weve been around the block on this subject already. Man i need ask the mods to close this thread just cuz its been outa sight-outta mind, but man now ur suggesting selling scale and thats been my draw (though ive held it off fairly well) all along, not into any of the 3d stuff. My wallet just wont be able to withstand the hit.

Guess what, i'm pulling out the G3 controller now, think I need some practice...... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE MAN?!?!, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!?

AHh, the lumbering feeling of of a heavy weighted scale..... Ooohhhhhh

Oh well, couldnt call myself a flier in the class of you guys, so no night flying as such, at least with exception to front yard stuff with the e-trex. Man kinda nice to be able to just step outside and play with the micros, night blades too.... Lipos charging as we speak....

thats for sure, the smell of nitro at 7 am. at 63 degrees up here smells soooo nice.. electrics can out fly any nitro if setup correctly, like a xcell fury ion, with 10s lipo packs is like 90 size nitro on steroids..

Those DC motors are TORQUEY. Heard of guys not tightening the blades well enough and punching it at tool low an rpm and twisting themselves up into a ball... Absolutely fabulous performers, though.

I may to the trex one day, though. We'll see...

You have GOT to be kidding me... An AW body for the t rex? That is too funny... Probably cost as much as the heli (if scale body prices are as expensive as they have been in the past, that is).

Nice retracts. I don't like dealing wit raw CF cuts. How did you smooth the edges?

Bruce do it, do it I tell ya.... some pics for ya inc my homemade retracts from Cf stock. That Trex is an awesome machine, especially for it's size. Totally dif from running any 30-90 but unbeleivable performance and fun for something its size

And sorry to hear about that Salty, sure aint no fun givin up what we love

actro motors that was referring to are outrunners, meaning the outer casing spins, while the armature is stationary..

I only had one scale ship, my first ship (Kyosho 30 sized bird; forgot which. That thing was nimble as all get out SRX something or other?).

But yeah, that's another addicting hobby... Reefs and helis are like crack!

that is a kyosho concept srx..
*taps nose*

Yup. Loved that thing, but the engine mount sucked. Went through those like crazy; could never get rid of enough vibration to make it not blow through those mounts. Really agile little bird, though. I miss it...

:(

Comparatively, the Raptor sux with regards to flying characteristics...
