Is a lot of par lost in open air? I'd really like to mount my radion G3 Pros 20" above the water line.

This will allow me to build an elevated or floating type canopy deep enough to kill most light spillage but maintain a rimless style tank with easy access for feeding and top town views. I plan to kill spillage by recessing the radions 8 inches or so into the canopy. I'll make the skin of the canopy removable for heavy maintenance.

72" tank length. I plan to run 4-5 g3 pros mounted perpendicular to length of tank. Tank depth is 24". Tank will be mixed but mostly sps dominant with lower light corals near sand.

Good to know. I'm going to plan on running them that high and if need be go to normal TIR lenses if the pars too low.
