Wow thanks for the update James really cool. Maybe we'll get quoted on his blog again with all the misinformation...

I think they are sort of ugly hopefully the patterns change a little more, or the next generations get more of the lightning look. I wouldn't want a maroon clown anyways they are terribly aggressive.

You think the babies are ugly or the momma is ugly? I am sure the markings on the babies will mature as they get older and look like the momma. I agree that maroons are nasty mean but the beauty of the original would allow me to put up with it.

No the momma is awesome... I meant the babies. But yeah your right their patterns may develop further they just don't quite have the lightning look I guess. Still a great achievement.

Matt,

Would you point me in the right direction, you being in the clown breeding community? I am in search for several premium top shelf midnight clownfish. I realize that ORA breeds them but they still possess the orange face. I am looking for ones that is completely black from face to tail. Please ask around and see if anyone in the breeding world have more than a few to unload to me. Thanks.

I see these rare expensive fish every once and a while but once purchased, you never hear from them again. Dead maybe?

If you havent had a chance check out Matt Pedersen's updates on the clutch of babies. Very cool. Looks like some will make it to market with the markings that make them so cool. Sadly I am sure they will cost way to much for me but perhaps one of the ballers here can get one and I can go stare at it for a bit!

I dunno... none of the babies are even close to showing the pattern of the lightning. IMO even babies have a pattern that hold true most of their life - Part of the reason for the sort and cull process.

I dont know I think some have the beginings of the lightning pattern and they are still young. Im real interested to see how they look in a few years.
