I just got a Rasta Leather which I noticed was split open on its stalk and the flesh discoloring, like turning black. Is there any hope for it? What, if anything, should I do? I have not been able to upload a pic through Tap a Talk for awhile now (get an error msg) will send to computer and upload from there.

frag it up... throw away the infected pieces, and move them to either another tank, or somewhere else on your tank.. i honestly don't know what is going on with your coral... that sucks...

Ah! Finally, pics! It said the pic upload failed so I didn't think they posted. I just bought it tonight from the main guy in my town I buy coral from but this side was not facing me so I did not see it. I have never fragged a coral before and this is a pretty long split. Thank you for the advice, Gumbii

It's a leather so it should be easy. Just cut where you want with a razorblade or scissors and rubber band it to some rock.

Never mind...I see several spots of black throughout the coral which, to me, seems as if even if I cut the dead part off, it has spread because a couple of the tips are black. I think I am going to take it back to where I got it from

It's a leather , dime a dozen not necessarly the guy's that sold you fault it's a coral. Cut all those fibers off. But that being said I lost a toadstool to the same disease within 2 days max so if you are goig to cut it do it ASAP and dip in iodine

He actually got an email from the wholesaler saying they were replacing all Rastas so I'm getting the replacement on Wednesday

I had it for 20 minutes so it was definitely like that when I got it but to his credit, the dead part was facing the rock in his tank and he didn't see it
