I purchased my rbta on wednesday and drip acclimated him for 2 hours. Here's a pic shortly after I put him in.

After a couple hours of being in the tank he buried his foot into the rocks, which I thought was normal, and had his tentacles out a bit.

Now 2 days later,I'm not quite sure what he's trying to do. I think he may have gotten himself stuck and is trying to split. But Im not sure. Should I try feeding him or just let him be. Any advice?

yeah just feed him. They always move around and find a spot they like anyway. I know a guy that has one he can barely see bc it is always behind a rock lol

the rbta is gonna stay where it wants to... just let it be and hopefully he pops out when he's hungry.

completely agree, let it be, give it a few days and then try feeding it a small piece of silverside. Don't force it to eat though...

BTW, what is that white stuff all over it?

Its actually a speckled rbta. It has speckles of white/teal all over it.

Though this isn't where I purchased mine from they're also listed on this site.

It's called "teal speckled roses".

yep, they do this.
Mine was upside down sticking out of 2 and sometimes 3 different holes in one of my rocks for a year.
After a year, it finally moved to the other end of the tank and attached on top of a different rock.

good luck

Dang well I'm hoping my decides to move.

Just a little update. He's still in the exact same spot as in the last pictures...split between two sides of the rock. Is there anything I should be doing? Should I try feeding him...do i feed both sides?

Just keep an eye on it. If it starts melting, just get it out asap.
Try to make sure that it eats.

Also, make sure that your water parameters are good and that they stay as stable as you can.

I know what it feels like to have an RBTA in your tank ank you cannot even really see it, like I said, mine was like that for a full year.
Now it is finally out in the open.

good luck

yeah, mine moved through the rocks to the back where it was almost impossible to see, but it was just slowly getting to the top rock. Now, it is in the perfect visible spot...

Just when I thought he was happy and stayed in the same place for a couple days, I woke up this morning to find him not on either of the sides he decided to split himself between but to the whole other side of the rock. Hopefully he doesn't deicide to stay there as he's not getting much light.
