So I was enjoying my tank at 4pm this afternoon....when I saw what appeared to be a worm of some sort....and it was colored blue. It had many little "bristles" on it.

It was headed straight for my Maxima clam so I jumped up and grabbed my long plastic tweezers to nab that sucker.

Well it was faster than me and it went back into the little hole it came from.

Not sure if this was a threat or not....and being that I'm the type of guy who shoots first, asks questions later.....I grabbed a tube of Corafix and stuck my hand in the water. I closed the hole up as best I could.

The white spot you see in the middle of the picture....that's my attempt to plug the hole. Where the white spot in the picture it....that's coral glue. Right beneath the Maxima clam.

So I realize I'm giving you guys real limited information here....but being that this happened in the daytime (with full lights on).....what do you think that was?

A good worm or a bad worm? It was about 1/2" long (maybe longer) and it had some sort of color to it....maybe blue and maybe purple. It had a bunch of bristles to it as well (on the sides....maybe they were feet).

So if this is a bad thing.....how do I kill these bastards off? I spent a ton of money on the meager corals that I got in my tank and I'm going to declare holy jihad war upon whatever pests are in my tank. Death to these infidels.

I also went to that one coral store in Huntington Beach....forget the name.....coral connection maybe? They're off McFadden. Cool people, they got a ton of cool corals/etc in there.

thanks if you guys can help

Ok, this piece of **** phone that I'm on isn't emailing me the picture as fast as I would like it to.....so please just discuss amongst yourselves and when the picture comes in I will upload it to this thread. Although it really doesn't matter much because it doesn't show the worm.

Also, do you guys think I got the worm.....or could he have another escape route in the live rock that he's in?

I put in a HUGE torch coral yesterday.....but I dipped him in that Lugols coral solution for about 15 minutes.....so that for sure killed off all the bad guys, right?

No pics of the worm....but I'm waiting on my slow phone to email me the pic I took of the hole that I plugged where the worm popped out of.

Are all worms bad? What about daytime worms?

Or is this thread moot because some worms are good, some are bad and the description I gave isn't enough to id?
