So I talked with Steve at SCA and looks legit. I'm wanted to make a custom 150g prob 48x24x24. Where should I put the overflow and how and how about how many radions and mp40's (and placement for mp40) please.

Your experience and knowledge is once again welcome please

Those dims are a standard 120. 150s are usually 60x24x24

Overflow probably depends on the location of the tank.

I'd say 3 radions for a 5' & 2 for a 4'

I'd do 1 mp40 and 1 gyre.

Where should the mp40 and gyre be placed? Heard the same from another reefer. I have no experience w gyre, can it be used with apex?

I like mine on opposite ends .really long pulse on gyre at 70%. Mp 40 on 100% reef crest during the day. My tanks 4'. This gives me great random flow with the gyre still keeping sandbed clean.

You're going to have to play with modes, placement and strengths to suit your individual needs.

I would do herbie external overflow. If you are going with a canopy, I would do the return on the opposite end with 2xsea swirl. For 5' tank I'd do 2xmp60, 4xradion or 2xap700

Honestly not sure yet. You mind sending pics of your setup? That's what I'm trying to figure out from people's experience on peninsulas what's the best "formula". And this will be a full reef

I had a 150 peninsula. 48x30x24. I would've loved for it to be 60x30x24. Just remember the more surface the better. Low budgets dims would be a dream tank.. Id go with a very slim overflow with the drain outside. Idk how strong mp40s are but I had a wp40 on mine and it gave great flow along with a koralia 4. But ii ff you go with 5' long maybe get a wave box. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing the build.

Hello, I have a 150g peninsula. my dimensions are 60x24x24. my overflow is on the right as the left is in full view when you walk through the front door. I really love the gyre because it pulls water to the opposite side of the tank and i can place it at the very top so no pumps or wires show. That was the most important thing to me. Aside from the gyre i run 2 mp40s at about 30%. I prefer a lot of indirect flow and it clears my tank quickly. heres a pic and a video of the gyre. old but still applies to what you wanted to see. I also had it pointed way too high so thats why it created air bubbles.
