What’s up SCReefers, looking for recommendations on a protein skimmer for a 80g set up. Max Height is about 22” with 4-5” diameter. Thanks in advance.

Tunze are awesome and short. Deltec is great as well but I feel like they are on the tall side, so you'd need to check that.

I have a Reef Octo 110 INT on a 80g tank and it works like a champ. Every week collection cup is full with thick almost black skimmate.

I can check my Deltic 600i, it's not too tall. I love that it's such a simple skimmer design and so easy to clean. I would steer clear of Nyos for a number of reasons, but that's just me. The 600i has the same pump as the 1000i, but in a slightly smaller (not as tall) body.

Tunze are my favorite nano skimmers. Running 9004 currently on my 40 fusion, runs like a beast.

I love my Deltec. I even have the old ac version (1351) with the aquabee pump on my nano system. It's a bit overkill for my 35-40g, but I run it on the dry side. But I can disassemble both skimmers in less than 5 minutes and it doesn't require a manual to put them back together like other skimmers. I hate a lot of parts on skimmers, which is why I'm not a fan of Nyos. I really liked the 160 when I first bought it, but after cleaning it a couple times and the pump not being strong enough to self prime after turning it off during feeding, I sold it. They're great skimmers if you don't have to clean them or turn them off.
Keep an eye out for a used Deltec, that's how I found mine.

I was considering this one also, seems like a reliable budget skimmer.
Its a main stream skimmer and alot of people have it so you shouldn't have a problem finding a used one for $100. This is my only Reef Octo skimmer but I like it so much I went out and got the Elite 220SSS for my next180G build.
