Are you talking about the Red Sea Foundation ABC+ (all in one)?

We use all of their products and they are very good.

Red Sea Foundation ABC+ is an all-in-one buffer. It includes calcium, alkalinity, magnesium and other trace elements all together in one powder. This powder cannot be dissolved in freshwater since it will precipitate. It must be added in powder form directly to the aquarium in a high flow area to prevent precipitation. It is also not easy to use this with a doser since it has to be added in dry form.

The Red Sea Foundation A, B or C (separate products) can be purchased in either liquid or dry form. If you purchase the dry form it is cheaper. The dry form should be dissolved in RODI water before dosing (like BRS). These products can be used with a dosing pump since they are meant to be added in liquid form.

I was reading to use A B C then in between to use ABC+ so I would have to dose a lot less. So I can just use ABC+ what would be the better option?
I don't think you don't need to use both, either one or the other should be fine.

If you plan on dosing by hand, once a day, I think the ABC+ would be easier. You just have to add one product. Just remember that you need to add it in a high flow area of your tank.

If you dose A, B and C separately it's just more work. If you are using a dosing pump the separate A, B and C are better.

The better option is to get a dosing pump. This would allow you to keep steady parameters within a mixed reef. Tanks will use different amounts depending on their live stock. I recently took 90% of my lps out of my Display to see how my SPS would do with more light. Before doing so I was not doser equal amounts of Alk and Calcium because the LPS was using up a large amount of alk I believe. Now that its removed I am back to equal part dosing. Just something you may consider.

Yes I'm doing a dosing pump and I'm doing their sps program since I lost all my coral in the upgrade transfer. No mix reef unless having one anemone counts? Do you use a calcium reactor too?

Unfortunately I do not have the room for a Calcium Reactor so I just use a doser. I suggest the ESV Bionic alk, cal, and mag. All are similar but this is just my preference.

Don't you need A B C and also ABC+?

ABC+ is what I use. You must first get any parameters that are off, say low PH or Calcium, to where you want them and then use ABC+. The separate A,B and C are for pinpoint goals. ABC+ is for the lazy, like me, that are tired of futzing with chemicals and don't trust electric/mechanical doodads very much to depend on.

May be a little OT, but, with ABC+ could you dose with something like and auto food feeder? I'm not sure, but aren't some of the adjustable for the amount dispensed?

With ABC+ you must reference your Calcium level to determine the amount of powder to administer. I don't think any auto feeder would have the accuracy needed plus you don't use it regularly once your at your goal parameters.

Yes, you would just needed to make sure it was being dispensed in a high flow area. There are also other methods to dose powders, it's just not as easy as liquid dosing.

Dang that seems like a lot of work! Let me know how it goes and if its worth it. Are you testing for all the parameters your dosing? Or is there a calculation for figuring out you iodine level off your calcium, alk, mag levels? Just seems like you'd constantly be testing 7 different parameters.
