Can I tag along? I wanted to know if there are any ill effects of reducing phosphates and nitrates quickly in a fish only system?

Ok thank you, how long did it take for you to notice a drop in Nitrates and did your water get cloudy?
I dosed according to the instruction and had nitrate reduced from 80 to 10 ppm after one day. It was like my skimmer got supercharged. I did notice the water got a bit cloudy but certainly not to a point that bothered me. Probably due to the UV and carbon that I have in the sump. I've been using this daily on my FOWLR system for 2 months now. Fish seem happier too.

A skimmer is a must while using NoPoX. NoPoX will delete oxygen, so the skimmer is needed to add it back in. Also, the skimmer is what removes the bacteria you want removed. I have over 200 gallons. I added more than what is suggested after following the directions for a few days. I bumped it up to 40 ML split up, 20 mil in the morning and 20 mil in the evening.Within the first 5 days I saw the water become very clear. There are several variables that may be contributing to your cloudiness, such as the number of fish and how often you feed. I didn't notice any details in that way. Be sure you have all carbon removed. I never have used a UV setup. You should see a jump in the amount of skim dross. In my case I went from 180+ ppm to 5ppm in about 6 weeks. Now I add 20ppm in the morning.
I have had no deaths or problems with fish, I have 38 fish total now. You may see an increase of algae but it will subside after the bacteria your feeding with the carbon ( that is what NoPoX is) propagates and starts doing its 'thing'.

Thank u for the detailed info :) so you're saying I should not use any carbon at all? I have about 20 fish and I feed them a lot. I don't think the cloudiness is due to my feeding regiment because I fed the same before nopox. The Skimmer does remove more than my other skimmer did.

Yes,that is what I am saying. I did remove all carbon. In fact, I had several bags of carbon that I forgot about in my 'fuge. Once I removed them the pace of Nitrate reduction sped up. Keep a daily log for reference. If you're like me you will forget what you did a few days back. This way once you have Nitrates at what you want, a balanced daily dose can be configured. As far as adding carbon back in, I don't know since it will remove the NoPoX.
I don't do any wet skimming since the removal of that much water will change your chemistry. I'd be interested to see if that makes any difference.
If you search the 'net for carbon dosing or Vodka dosing, you will find lots of information that you can glean.
As a side note if you want to also reduce your Phosphates, NoPoX will do that but it takes a longer time to do so.

Thanks again Jerry, I will keep everyone posted with my results this week. I have removed the carbon bags and now just have the skimmer running a little wet not fully wet and using filter socks.

Well, today is officially the 2nd week of dosing NoPox. Tested Nitrate today and it didn't make any difference:( I am currently dosing 10ml for my 150g daily. Should I increase it now to 20ml? I started the 1st week with 20ml but the water got cloudy so I reduced it to 10ml this week. Any suggestions or comments are welcome. It makes me want to give up but I know I shouldn't

I started with 20ml but it made the water cloudy that's why I lowered it to 10ml. I'm also dosing MB7 in conjunction
