So I turned off my wavemaker while feeding my nps coral and forgot to turn it back on. This morning I noticed my coral are all fully extended and look way happier. Could it be I was having too much flow? I keep mostly soft coral with a bit of easy SPS (montipora, birdsnest, digitata) I'm using a sicce 2.0 for my return pump. Its on a 30g cube. And I was running 2 koralia nano 425 on the wavemaker.

I think they stretch their tentacles to get more action from the return pumps since the power heads are off :)
Not quite necessarily true my dear Watson...after doing some research and watching lots of videos on youtube, currents and flow differ from region to region and therefore not all corals live/grow/thrive under the same conditions. Many places where soft corals reside, live in peaceful easy flow. The trick, I have come to realize, isn't how much flow to run in my DT...the trick is to place corals where they seem to get just the right amount of light and alternating current.
