I was the biggest verizon fan, but I jsut spent almost 4 hours on the phone with them trying to activate a new phone.
I spoke with 5 different representative, got good info from several ,but while following thier directions the automated thing dumped me, then they were able to conference call with me to the automated, and with thier promise to call me back should we get disconnected, and same thing...
Basically the situation was, I was able to get a new phone from one of their promotions, new every two years. Where you can get one hundred dollars credit to a new phone if you sign a new two year contract.
The phone on my family plan that qualified for that promotion was my mothers fone, but I wanted the new phone for my daughter as her motoral razr phone keeps breaking, three times now in the alst year. (we have insurance and it will cost fifty dollar deductible to get a new phone, which I may doand then just sell the new razr, (anyone interested?)
So, when I bought the phone, I told the rep, what I had planned on doing and she said no problem, just call the 1 800 number to have them activate it mannually.
Then all the problems, "it can be done", "It can't be done". "It can be done, but it will cost $20", "We can overide the $20 if I call a different 1-800 number" And on, and on, and on....
The last person I spoke with, (the third different 'manager' ) figured it out, but it still took him 35 minutes to get it accomplished.
And to top it all off, I did this while I was in the hospital. (I had back surgery 12 hours earlier. And with me being in the hospital, and her not having a phone, dictated that it ne3eded to get taken care of right then.
The funny note is, the nurse came into my room to find out why my heart rate and other stats were elevated so high...
