I just bought a new reef octopus and upon plugging it in i realized right away what others have apparently realized...it sounds like a **** waterfall. i was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy this output vent from. i tried making my own but the skimmer is metric so i have been unable to find 40mm pipe. any help would be appreciated thank you.

You can make your own with stuff from Home Depot for about twelve bucks. Don't worry about the metric, use a Fernco rubber coupler (the kind that comes with two stainless hose clamps) found in the plumbing section as a sort of metric to standard adapter. It will fit on the output and then just do a short standard pvc slip piece to a slip/slip/slip "T" with a short slip PVC piece on top with a regular slip cap. Make sure to put a hole in the cap to avoid back pressure.

alright thank you for the info. i figured it was just another way for them to make a few extra bucks and like everything in this hobby you have to pay to play
