Hello, my name is Thomas and I started with the aquarium hobby when I was 9 years old with a freshwater aquarium. I had those for over thirty years before I started my first saltwater tank about three years ago, when I converted my 29g FW to salt when buying and setting up a 65g freshwater tank. I enjoyed the 29g so much that I also converted my 65g to saltwater and have not looked back.
The 65g is a mixed reef (softies, LPS, and SPS), all beginner corals, and the other inhabitants are
2 clowns (breeding incessantly, but the fry always ends up as food)
1 Royal Gramma ( the biggest and shiest fish in the tank!)
1 Yellow Watchman Goby paired with a Tiger Pistol shrimp (redecorating my substrate all the time)
1 Yasha White Ray Goby paired with a Candy Cane shrimp (yes, I love those goby/pistol pairs!)
1 Blue Neon Goby
1 Starry Goby
1 Banggai Cardinal
3 Red striped Cardinals (I ordered yellow striped, but these came instead)
Hermit crabs
Strawberry Conch
Assortment of other snails (Cerith, Nassarius, Trochus, Astrea)
The 29g houses
2 Pajama Cardinals
1 Royal Gramma
1 Yellow Watchman Goby paired with a Tiger Pistol shrimp (again, love those guys)
Snails
Softies and some SPS fragments from my 65g
The fish are all captive-bred.
As I have no sumps all equipment is HOB or in-tank (Seachem Tidal filters, Tunze 9004DC, Bullet-1).
As most beginners I had to deal with various issues (bryopsis, diatoms, dinos), but now both tanks run well.
Looking forward to learning and connecting here!
