I was wondering if any of you reefers has some plans for a refugium. I was planning to use a 10 gallon I had lying around. I am thinking of putting my Cheato and some Tigger Copepods in the refugium.

from my experience refugiums only work if you have a high nutrient tank. if you do regular water changes and regular feeding you really dont need one. I have a sump area full of live rock and stocked with pods, no refugium. When I had the refugium setup none of the chetoe would grow do to the low nutrient count in my system.

Refugiums, they are fun to make, but not really needed.

I have to agree with Detane because i have it in my Lps tank and it balances it out since i keep the water with food and nutrients high for the filter feeders and it grows pretty well but in my SPS tank i haven't notice any growth but it does help balance out your PH since the lighting is 24/7
