Any ideas how to remove Boston reef glue from acrylic? I was gluing a piece of coral to a rock and the coral fell over onto the top of the aquarium. I tried wiping it off but it made it worse. Any ideas will be appreciated.

I know they make something that breaks down cyanoacrylate that doesn't affect plastic or acrylic. I would look into a hobby store or an rc forum. Google probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

You can use acetone to break down the ca glue. If I remember correctly it won't affect the acrylic.

Mineral Spirits is a little less harsh and it might work but I don't know, just putting that out there because I use mineral spirits when I lay hardwood floors that need to be glued down. The mineral spirits will remove glue on the face of the hardwood without damaging the finish on the floor.

I used acetone to removed old, dry, and crusty paper off the used sump I bought. Did not affect the acrylic at all, at least not for me. I am sure someone will come in and contradict this.

Acetone is what the manufacture recommend as the remover

Get a small bottle of nail polish remover and give it a try on a small spot before going all out on sanding the tank.
