earlier tonight while trying to be carefull capping one test tube, I knocked over another one that in turn knocked over another! So now I'm down to only 2 test tubes :bawling: Does anyone know where I can find replacements? I'm sure I could find some generic test tubes, but I would at least like some that have the 5ml line since I don't have a syringe. I don't really want to buy new test kits since I just bought the master kit a week ago and have only done about 5 tests.
I'm definitely building a test tube rack once I replace the broken tubes.

my LFS used to sell them to us for a buck...

he burned down two months ago...

i don't know if other LFS will hustle those tubes...

a phone call wouldn't hurt... just ask them...

i like using a test tube that i got from tetra... it's super wide and easy to swirl/mix the fluids other than capping and shaking... i would go with any other 5ML container because the API ones are small and make a mess...

good luck...

get a syringe at CVS and then you can use the little disposable plastic condiment cups. very easy to swirl those to mix up the reagents, and you can choose to clean them or toss them.

call one of your LFS, they will have something you can measure 5 ml with. I have the same kit and only use 2 anyways. Set up your no3 then while waiting the 3 min for it to settle, do cal or alk, by the time you finish that, dump your no3 and do po4, while waiting do alk or cal. I really wouldn't go to to much hassle to find those test tubes. But definitely get a syringe if you can as the API test tubes are marked differently, meaning that the lines are not accurate, and the syringe will be.

nice idea with the cups but the whole house gets into the activity of testing the water so id like to keep the "scientific" look with the test tubes =) this is also why i'd like to get a tube for each test so everyone can do a test at the same time. once testing gets a little boring, i'll probably go to a more efficient process.

Kenny: West LA is a little bit of a drive for me, but i'd pay for shipping if you are willing to bag them up and send them to me.
