Return pump for sump

Hello everyone I just got a 70 gallon mode aquarium with a 30 gallon sump I'm trying to see what's a good gph return pump to add thanks in advance 🙏👌

2-5x an hour is fine. Remember to calculate loss of velocity due to head pressure

This is a great pump. Maybe look for a Fluval SP2 on Amazon. Same motor block.

I'm using the older version of these on my nano system and they work great. They also come with 0-10v input so you can control them via apex or hydros. Figure out what you're going to have connected to the return line (manifolds, uv, etc) and calculate for 1-3x turnover and have plenty of extra power on tap. I won't get into the details, but there are no benefits to go beyond 3x turnover for a display/sump.

If you can use two small return pumps it helps provide redundancy that can be useful in an emergency.

how do you calculate that? I saw a article on brs about calculating head pressure, but didnt really see anything about that applies to gph
