So I turned everything that makes noise off on my tank. No mp60s, no fans, no return pump. The only thing running is the Gyre. I have to admit I am actually really impressed. I should have done this when I first got it. I didn't really see what it could do with my return pump and mp60s running. I'm actually sitting here watching the flow in my tank with just the gyre and the return pump, and I'm kinda blown away at how much water is moving. Before I took the video, i stirred up my sump so there was crapp floating around in the water column. With just the gyre running, the crapp was going from one end of the tank all the way to the other end, and then it went down the glass and started coming back towards the gyre. Pretty awesome, and something that one $700 mp60 does NOT do.

I actually took this video so u guys could here how loud the gyre is, and then I realized what it does and now I don't really hear the noise anymore. Hahaha. Would def consider this thing at one end of my tank, and an mp60 on the other end. It's def less bulky then the Vortech pumps. One slim bar that moves a TON of water! So as far as looks goes, i would prefer the gyre over a Vortech or a Tunze/jebao.

Check out the video and let me know what u think! Oh and don't worry I know there is cyano in my tank. :)

Remember the only thing on in the video is the gyre at 100%

I uploaded it in HD, it's super blurry in mon HD.

Other than the baller Sohal tang are your fish always that skittish or is it the increased flow making them mad? Or are you scary? Btw that's a lot of flow.

It will be a good comparison if you can do another recording with only the MP60 turned on to 100%.

Love the tank, but kinda hard to see the actual water flow with the blues, can you take another with the whites on?

Thanks for the video Nick :) Good Job....

How thick is your glass ? How do you rate the magnets ? Do they have a strong grip ?

I want to get one but I have 3/4" acrylic side panels...Waiting for the extra magnet kit to come out...

nice flow, nice tank also thanks for the video, mine should be here tomorrow
Awesome. I think u will really like it. Do what I did, and turn off all the flow in your tank so u can really see how this thing works.

My Glass is 1/2", and it works just fine for 1/2", but they are not really strong. They ship the gyre with the magnets attached. If they were really strong, they would have them separated.

Yepppp. Right now I'm thinking about taking off the mp60 on the right side, which is one of my viewing panels. It really sucks that I have a huge mp60 sitting dead center on that panel. Really kills the side view of the tank. The Gyre would be so much cleaner on that side of the tank. Then I'll leave the mp60 on the opposite side attached to my Vortech battery backup.
