So my wife is starting nursing school full time, that means one less pay check for two years. So I'm going to shutdown my 180 gallon reef and setup a Nano reef to keep a few of my fish and coral.
I had John from AA build me a 24"x18"x18 tank with a sump built in to the back 5" of the tank.
It's 24"wX18"dX18"h 1/2" acrylic with eurobrace on the display side only, and a 5" wide sump in the back with a overflow/skimmer section then it goes to a fuge section that overflows in to a return pump section. I paid $350 and John dropped off locally for me.
Yep we're going to go again, let us know when your thinking of going.
I got water in it and put some live sand and Dr Tim's, to get it cycled. I'm
Going to make a basket so i can put some reef rubble from my reef, and a chemi-pure bag
In the refugium section. Had an extra mp10 from the shop tank I take care of, So it's perfect for this tank. I'm going to try something a little different with this nano tank.
Made a removable media/reef rubble basket. I filled 3/4 with reef rubble from my reef tank, and made another section for carbon/gfo and some filter floss.
what is Dr Tim? How does it speed up the cycle? I just got a 1 yr old cardiff and want to speed up cycling process so I can transfer my fish from 14 gal biocube. Really nice Rock works btw. Are those base rock? Whre did you get it?Thanks
