Just got my RKL package in the mail yesterday. The firmware it came with is 1.3 However I've got 2 issues that I cant seem to sort out.

1. The SID is 2.0 but it will not update. It keeps saying update failure.:mad2:

2. After setting the time on the head unit, it stays on that time and never progress forward:mad2:

Anyone have any ideas whats going on. Maybe just a defective unit? I looked on the Digital Aquatics forums and I read one post with the same problem and the guy had to RMA it.

BTW-it came with 2 power strip modules, temp probe, ph probe, SLI, and cables.

I would contact Digital Aquatics right away. I have the RKL too and have never had issues with mine...but then again it's not the one with the updated firmware. I've heard people having problems with the newer firmware. Just call them and talk to their support. Good luck!

call DA, ASAP

I was a A+ certified comp/network tech in college and still had to get a little help finishing the upgrade.

Call DA they are helpful. You will have to upgrade EVERY module, so be prepared to unplug & replug a lot of stuff.

Also, you will need to upload a new web entry page into the net module if you plan on monitoring remotely.

It helps to have a laptop with wireless internet to bring closer to the tank.

Also, ask them why they still havent released the upgrade that allows for remote CONTROL of the modules.

Good luck!

You either corrupted your firmware or shorted something. If it was working well before you attempted the upgrade, it is likely the former...

Ya they are very helpful. I have been having a problem with my temperature probe staying calibrated? I am not sure why, its not dirty and it isn't even 6 months old.

I've run a whole gamut of trials and nothing seems to be fixing the issues. I'm just gonna say the head unit is bad and the SID is dead. I'll be contacting them on Monday. I was really looking forward to automating my tank, especially the heating and cooling. Guess its gonna have to wait.

Ya, but I will say that DA has very good customer service. When I got my unit, it came with a defective Pc4 and they replaced it with a brand new one.
