RO or tap water for new set up?

I have my new 100g pretty much plummed and ready to go. I won't be adding any livestock anytime soon but I want to get it running so it can cycle. I already have a box of coralife salt. My question is, should I fill it with RO water or tap water? To make the salt mix. I'd rather do it with RO but I don't own an RO unit

RODI water for sure. Most socal water uses cloramines now and who knows what phosphates and silica are in that water. All it will cause you is potential issues down the road. Be patient and do it right from the start.

Buying RODI is going to cost you about 60 bucks. Up to you but if you have the space and energy get an RODI unit. I am lazy and like BSing with Chad at CG so I just buy his water.

Or another route would be to go to the Kerkhoff Marine Lab in Newport Beach and get all the free NSW you want. Buffer it, and in time change it out with synthetic during water changes.

For the love of jeebus don't use tap. I thought I'd save money and try it when I set up my last tank and it took me months of carbon and gfo and water changes, sea hares, turbo snails etc. to get rid of the massive algae outbreak I had. =)
