Need help from the expert Rodi guys out there. I bought a used bulk reef 5 stage Rodi unit. The guy I bought it from said the ro filters are 6 months old and the di resin needs replacing. When I ran the unit the ro coming out was at 2 tds but it looked like a slow drip. The pressure gauge was at around 70 psi. Do you think I need to change the filters for the ro section since the water coming out seemed so slow?

I know the di section needs to be changed because the tds coming out is 15.

I just figured out the issue...the membrane flush was on thus causing the slow flow. Now I'm getting around 90 psi and 1 tds going through the ro......I guess I don't need to change that just yet. The di coming out is at 4 tds so I'm still going to need to change that resin.

Hmm. If your line pressure is 90 psi, it sure should have been lower than 70 psi with the flush valve open - assuming everything is plumbed correctly.

I'd go ahead and replace the sediment, carbon and DI and call it a day. Obviously your membrane is good if you're getting only 2 TDS off the RO.

If you're going to do that - it would be a great time to sanitize the unit - especially because you bought it used. That should be done once a year.
