Alright well I did it.. I talked the hubby into another tank.. Woo hooo so now we have 3 tanks... Found a tank listed on ea.. for really cheap. With everything pumps, lights, stand, and ect... It is a 28 gal AR-620 tank. Someone removed the lid and replaced the lights with a jalli a27.. So the ending bid was 58.00 dollars. So it is all set up and going.. Soon we will be adding a mantis shrimp *peacock* Yaaaaaa I have lined the bottom of the tank with acrylic... I will post some photos up tonight..

I have about 10 pounds of live rock in there right now will be adding another 10 pounds today.

Rock is from my 24 gal & 6 gal. Just need a larger rock. So I will be heading out to my lfs tody to get some..

Cool set up big tank for a mantis shrimp
the price was right and the peacocks do get pretty large *want to make sure it has alot room to just chill I will be adding some frags from my 24gal to it pretty soon to help take up some space* :proud: Also kicking around the idea of adding some kind of damsel * I know it might become a meal :hmmmm: but I want to see if maybe if I keep it all full and fat if it will leave it alone and if not then I just wont have to buy a crab that day. So I might try it not sure tho I added more sand tonight to make a deeper sand bed for him to play in. Tank is all cloudy now tho :bawling: so just waiting that out and such.

I added a deep red background.. I will most likely paint the back of the tank later on but wanted to see how it would look a deep red. Glass is kinda messy sorry about that.

Well here he is... So I took a cooler to put him in on the way home. I could see some how the bag getting a hole and having a huge mess in our truck.. So everyone met Bam Bam

Nope we got him at socal tropical fish.. Went in for a fire shrimp. *Since the other store was taking way to long to get one over 2 weeks blah* So called around and found some at socal went out there. Got the fire shrimp and then I saw the peacock and told my hubby I WANT THAT!! Hahaha so needless to say
we got him.. Have been kicking around the idea of getting one for about a year now. Never saw a peacock in person till we went out to socal. The only one that I have seen are at Global Aquatics and they are always really large and dark green and way way over priced. So seeing the peacock in person just took my breath away and I knew I had to have one!

Thank you! It is a blast to sit back and watch.. He is always out and about. Silly to watch. We have the tank in our living room so we can see him all the time. And I do not know if it is cause he is new or not but like I said he is always out and walking around and picking up rocks and swiming to one side of the tank. Then 10mins grabs it again and swims it back to where he found it.

wow beautiful, i've got a peacock in a 24g nano, it's my second one, my first one was a beautiful green like yours but unfortunately didn't make it through a molt. i absolutely love my mantis, you're really going to enjoy him! i have fish in my tank, a bangaii cardinal, and six line, and the fish are not afraid of him at all. however, i've tried adding fish a few months after those fish and they never last more than a day, so i don't really know what he's thinking. good luck!

Alright a small update.. So just a few mins ago I am sitting here playing poker online and I hear a knocking coming from the tank so I looked up with in a few secs I see Bam Bam's tail between the rocks. Next thing I know I see a flash of white and black behind some of the rocks... Then with in a few more secs the fish comes out of the rocks and Bam Bam is right behind him. The fish swims up towards the top of the tank and next thing I know Bam Bam has him... Fish is still swimming around the tank towards the top and Bam Bam is riding him. I know it is mean but it was funny... So note to self do not have feed him tomr... He will be full...

Like I said I know it is mean but it looked so funny cause it looked like he was riding the fish..

But then again throwing a few damsels in there is still cheaper then getting crabs... The fish lasted over a week in there.

Most likely I will not add more fish just kicking around the idea...
