Hi, I'm a bit confused after reading some of the posts in this section. Honestly, I am finding something to talk about since I can't sell any frags here even though I've been a member since 08. Apparently I haven't posted 20 times.

After reading the post about SCR turning into craigslist, I felt the need to suggest something based on my own experience with reef sites and bulletin boards. SCR is not my main site since I am on the border of the inland empire, and I tend to go south more often than I go north or west. However, I believe I have sold here in the past, and I have certainly purchased. I use the reef sites primarily for this purpose, although I am in no way out to make a living off of reefing. Quite the contrary, I love these sites because I can meet people through buying and selling, and I can barely afford to stay in this hobby so these sites help keep me out of the LFS. So I believe if you look at my history on this site, I have 14 posts and probably 12 of them are "PM sent" where I am trying to buy something off someone. I do enjoy reef discussions, I just have not explored the other forums on here because I haven't found the need. Apparently I can't be a member of this community by just trying to sell or trade some frags, I have to "introduce myself" or "review some equipment" or "help a newbie" for a sufficient amount of time before I can sell.

I think the "new" look of SCR is cool, and I'm thankful to the admins for letting me browse. I think it's pretty silly that I have to post 5 more times before I can sell something even though I have sold here before, bought here before, and interacted physically with several members by virtue of having met them here through the "4 sale" forums.

just my 2 cents. And another post so maybe I can break the barrier after being here for almost 3 years (I have >300 posts on another site, so maybe I should just stay there?). If I don't get banned for this post, perhaps I'll go to the introduce myself section to bring me up to post #16.

This is correct.

It isn't hard to get 20 posts and 300 posts isn't hard either. I have probably wrote 300 posts trying to answer some people's questions before.

play by yourself alot?...

its a reef forum... its a way to express constructive(ideally) options, issues, advice, experience, etc....

sell posts are a perk of being a constructive member of this forum....

If I walked in a fish store everyday since Nov. 08 and bought about a dozen items that entire time... does that entitle me to ask the store owner to hook it up for me?.. i sure don't think so...

if you came up to me as an owner w/ that kind of entitlement, I'll tell ya to go %#$& yourself... :)

have a hate-filled day!

they are supposed to be meaningful post... if you're just doing that to get your post count up, that's petty, and shouldn't be allowed...

it's not hard to have a conversation with people on a forum for 10 post or so... something is wrong here...

ok, guess you missed my point. Have fun talking to yourselves.
I think YOU missed the point. The site shouldn't be used to solely sell corals. That is a benefit of being part of the SoCaliReefs community. I actually came up with the rule, we had a problem with people creating an account and selling corals and not providing any useful information to help the reefing community here on SoCaliReefs. If you have a problem with it, then don't post, or sell. Rules are Rules follow them or go to a different site.

Thanks G and Wally.

werd mike...

i hope the mods look at people's post before deleting their FS threads... because there are a lot of people that only put PM sent or whatever... and also, 300 post at another forum still isn't a lot... LOL... i had over a grand at RC before i got banned... HAHAHAHA... i recently just joined another forum, and in 4 months (chickens) have over 1,200 post...

LOL..

You need to posts meaningful here on SCR. The last four were not not meaningful and will be subtracted. Oh and consider this a warning any more childish posting and it will your last.
