Today is my SFTs last day. Noticed it up in the corner like it always is grazing on the powerhead. But I noticed it seemed to have something hanging off of its side. Looks like intestines. My purple swam up to it then turned away. Fins look nipped.
Is the scalple/barb of a Tang capable of doing such damage? Never saw crazy aggression towards any of them to think this would be the demise. I do have a fairily large CBS but I'd think I'd see more fish with injuries if it were him seeing I've had it for about a year.
Bumming out. Had that guy for about six months. Purple for about a month.
In sump. Thinking I might give it to my Anemone when it finally passes.

One thing about feed larger fish to Anemone's, is it starts to expect it! And then you'll notice fish disappearing!

Sorry to hear about the bad news. I saw your Sailfin Tang last time I was at your place when you still do not have the purple tang.

Purple tangs are very aggressive and since they are the same species of tang the end result is very seldom favorable, sorry to hear of your loss.

That sucks, I hope u have better luck! I feel your pain, my crab must have knocked my huge green acan lord colony off the ledge it was on last night. It fell polyp down on my large orange crush acan colony. Needless to say I have 7 polyps of green left out of probably 30! Really sucks.

It's a bummer. But I guess it's the way of the reef.
After Drew left I gave it to my Anemone. Right afterwards the Purple swam right up to it and drug it away by the tail before the Anemone had a chance to close up. So I handed it back to the Anemone and placed a breeder box over it. Needless to say the Purple wasn't happy about that. Kept circling it like a shark in a frenzy.
So Just got home from a day of football, pizzas and family to see it completely ingested by the Anemone and it seems very happy. Tinge of green back in it with Purplish/pink tips like the day I got it.
OC. I've come to just leave some corals on the sand instead of constantly picking them up from being tossed off the rocks.
Looks like no new fish, especially Tangs for me for a while or until I catch my Hawkfish. The Purple isn't going anywhere. Too nice looking. And the Hawk is a total punk.
I bet I have more morners here for my fish than I do on my own death bed from family. Thanks

Yea man... I had them on the sand bed, but they seem to do better on the ledge.

Sorry to hear about your fish. I had a purple that killed a much larger achilles. The achilles had so many holes in it and the purple had a big piece of achilles stuck to his spike. I had to get rid of him. I do not keep any tangs in my tank now.
