I bought a great Sailfin Tang a few months back for my 32 gallon biocube. He slowly started losing his fins, and get some spots on him. I bought some medicine for him, because I was told he had fin rot, but didn't seem to help, so I'm thinking it's because of the size of the tank, which the guys in the store told me I would be fine with.

Regardless, he's a great fish, with great personality. He's been losing his fins for a while, and the treatment hasn't been working, so I'm hoping someone will be able to revive him. He's still eating, and swimming around like normal, just the problems with his appearance are what needs to be fixed.

Feel free to contact me if you're interested. I'm located in Los Alamitos, near Long Beach.

Regards,

Joe

What meds/treatment have you been using? I have a quarantine tank and would be willing to treat it...I have a 135 display it could go in if it makes it.

looks like your fish have ick

check if your temperature is not too low,
if not use UV or Ozone to treat your tank for about 2 months before getting a new fish

Sounds like he might have HLLE most likely caused from the stress of putting him in way to small of a tank. I can't believe that they told you at that LFS he would be fine in that size tank, really bad info.

Wasn't getting the thread updates. Thanks for all the feedback! I was able to give him away to a lot larger tank. Hopefully he makes it through, he's a really great fish!
