Sorry i caused a mis understanding its 1.030 right now and want to lower it 1.024-27

That's a big difference. I think people thought you meant 30ppt and wanting to lower it to 24ppt...

Just to clarify, you're going to pull SW out first right? Not just going to fill your sump with fresh because it can hold it?

Well I guess you could fill it, let it mix then drain it back down to its normal level. So nevermind.

See that's what I took it as because I say it that way too. I guess its because I started this hobby with a hydrometer =P

So tell us more! haha is this a new set up? is it stocked? 180g plus 55g puts you at 235g! I don't think 5G will bring that much water more than 1 point (1.030 to 1.029)

Its stocked . And im suppose to get a shark egg today hopefully it will survive .

is it a reef or a FOWLR? I'm going to guess the later because you're adding a shark egg. Bring it down to 1.026, that's natural sea water. After that you can lower it a few more points the next day if you want.
