Hey everyone...Just decided to join the community (online)... Ive been a enjoying marine aquariums since the mid 80's..Yes I was a kid then!!!....I am a retired firefighter and studying ecology/ environmental biology..hope to finish up soon..My wife is also a key influence in my marine hobby, she is a research scientist and holds a PHD in ecology from SDSU/Davis.. We are in the college are as my wife is soon to be doing post doc. research at SDSU...
My current marine setup is small and sweet... lately Iv been into a simple approach with my reef keeping.. I am currently keeping a 30 cube in my garage.. LED light strip.. MP10..Eheim canister run into an HOB UV unit...NO sump/no skimmer. Tank was setup with a giant piece of dried tonga branch (no live rock)..... Digital aquatics controller (mostly for the MLC untit and fan control)...Stocked with hardy proven softies and LPS..shrimp/ gobie pair provides the entertainment....corals are growing like weeds...nothing special..but it's mine!!
I hope to become active in the local SDMAS this year, look forward to meeting some of you...
