Sand

Has anyone found a source for pure aragonite sand without silica (like the playsand at Home Depot has)? The brands I've heard of don't seem to be around anymore.

i have never ever seen any sort of aragonite sand in any big name store... i heard about toys R us carrying natural beach sand.... wich is just that... beach sand...


i know peeps at the cichlid forums use that in thier tang tanks...

you miss southdown, ehh? that stuff was the best! I've heard of people using pulverized limestone, which is available at some big box hardware/feed stores, but I haven't had to search in a LONG time, so I can't be of more help. It's used as a substrate for chicken feed, IIRC.
